Latest Development in the City of Stars

PRIME Digital Marketing • August 13, 2014

In 1938, President Manuel Quezon dreamt of a city. A city that would become the home to middle workers and future capital of the Philippines. And in 1939, he signed the bill that give birth to the city of the Stars, the city of New Horizons and the city considered as the Philippine City of Asia, the Quezon City.

Over the years the city continued to progress, it became one of the biggest commercial centers of the country. According to the city's official website, "Quezon City is one of the most dynamic metropolitan areas in the Philippines today."

Many changes happened for the past 75 years, as the city progressed, more infrastructures, commercial and industrial buildings and other developments had been created. On that note, what are the latest developments in Quezon City today? Here's the 2 biggest trending developments in the Philippine City of Asia.

1. Quezon City's CBD – Vertis North

A joint venture with National Housing Authority, Vertis North is the city center of Quezon City. Residing on the North Triangle of the city, Vertis North stands span of 45 hectares of prime land. It is considered as the biggest and most modern development. It is a Php 65 Billion investment of Ayala Land, Inc. Vertis North is uniquely and masterfully planned. Strategically bound by EDSA, Quezon Avenue, Agham Road, North Avenue, and Mindanao Avenue, Vertis North will become the nucleus of a uniquely entrepreneurial city. An enterprising city. A dynamic engine for growth. At Vertis North, all roads lead to progress.

2. Proposed Tallest Structure in the Philippines to rise in Quezon City

The Philippine Diamond Tower (PDT) will be the Country's Tallest Structure to rise in Quezon City. According to an article, the PDT could be the highest structure in the Philippines and the world's third tallest tower. This broadcast and observation tower is proposed to be built on a seven-hectare property formerly occupied by the Manila Seeding Bank Foundation (MSBF). The Quezon City local government has appointed Mitsubishi Electric Corporation to build a PHP 15 Billion, 612-meter telecommunications tower that will house an international convention center, a five-star hotel, a shopping mall, restaurants, a disaster-risk management center, a garden park and a telecommunications hub. It is expected to be finished in 2016. However, the plan of building the Philippine Diamond Tower is still being studied since it needs approval from the National Housing Authority which is current owner of the said property.

These two latest developments are evidence of the realization of the late President Quezon's dream.

As Tony Robbins said, "Change is inevitable. Progress is Optional" and The Philippine City of Asia chose to progress and prosper throughout the years.
